JOB PURPOSE
Extract, load, condition, QA, QC, restore and support users in populating all information/data into the project database application and corporate database/ databanks so as to enable geoscientists, production and surface engineers to conduct interpretation, planning and analysis effectively, efficiently, safeguard PETRONAS strategic assets worth ~RM25b and making PETRONAS E&P Data Centre as a world class standard with highly credible data security to attract investment to the country.
RESPONSIBILITIES
1.E&P Technical Data Extraction and Loading
Extract the technical data from the databanks (UDRS, FINDER, Seismic Databank, Well Log Databank, Drilling Databank, Geodatabase, and Production Databank), load the data into the workstation or media so as to ensure for geoscientists and petroleum and surface can conduct interpretation, planning and analysis effectively and efficiently.
2.E&P Technical Data Verification, Quality Check and Quality Assurance
Perform technical data verification, quality check and quality assurance for data received, loaded and stored in the corporate database system/ databanks (Finder, UDRS, LogDB, Spatial Database/GIS ) through database audit, visual and numerical cross reference with tape, report, map, log, project inventory, inspection on media content, format, media type and completeness to ensure high data quality, reliability, information consistency and integrity to investors, partners and government bodies.
3.Application Support
Provide application support on application guidelines, application installation, data reconditioning, digitizing and data conversion to ensure geoscientists, petroleum and surface engineers can conduct interpretation, planning and analysis effectively and efficiently.
4.Technical Data Support
Identify data contained in the concession blocks, fields or study areas by searching, extracting, analyzing and verifying and tabulating availability of data from all databases in databank (UDRS, FINDER, Seismic Databank, Well Log Databank, Drilling Databank, Geodatabase, Production Databank) to support block promotion and data request by geoscientists, petroleum and surface engineers
5.Data back-up and restoration
Continuously restore and back-up all project data by implementing scheduler back-up procedure to ensure data is captured and available in the project database for geoscientists, production and surface engineers to improve their analysis, studies and/or used as future reference.
6.E&P Technical Data Conditioning, Enhancement and Reload
Condition, enhance and reload the databases for geodatabase, seismics, wells, drillings, productions, cores, tapes, technical reports and POST to ensure that the data is accurate and up to date which will enhance integrity and quality of databases.
7.PSC Data Management
Continuously track PSCs data generating activities, prepare, maintain and update data checklist, statistics and data submission progress using Data Submission Tracking System (POST) to ensure the submission of the data by PSCs to PETRONAS is in timely manner prevent data loss which will lead to delay of data delivery for block promotion.
8.System facilitation
Conduct specialized assistance for geocomputing application to geoscientists, production and surface engineer by setting up the G&G interpretation system, GIS project and UDRS and facilitate the usage of system, so as to ensure they conduct analysis and studies effectively and efficiently
9.Map Creation
Create map by extracting data from geodatabase, assigning annotation, symbology and legend and plot map using ArcGIS for geoscientists, petroleum and surface engineer's presentation materials and report closures.
10.Transfer of G&G and Engineering Graphical Data Images
Transfer paper based graphics by scanning, de-skewing, vectorizing, assign coordinates, spatial location and attribute to the G&G and engineering graphical data images into the geodatabase as to enable geoscientists, petroleum and surface engineer to retrieve the data for their works.
11.Administrative works
Provide hands-on office administrative tasks – budget preparation & tracking, material purchasing, invoice processing, logistic filing, asset inventory and other general administrative work.
REQUIREMENTS
Must posses at least SPM/MCE qualification.
Minimum 8 – 12 years' experience in E&P related tasks
